Diane is an AI character
Diane, the friendly face in our reels, is an AI-generated character, not a real person. Her image and voice are made with AI tools. She does not cook, taste or test anything, and we label her as AI wherever she appears.
Where we use AI
- Research: finding and comparing published versions of a dish and what reviewers said about them.
- First drafts and outlines, which a person then rewrites and corrects.
- Diane's character and voice in short videos.
- Text overlays, recipe cards, printables and other design work.
- Example illustrations of a dish, shown in an article only until our own photo is ready. Each one is captioned "AI illustration, not our dish". On Pinterest, these images carry Pinterest's AI label.
Where we don't
- The recipe card photo. The photo on a recipe card is always a real photo, never AI. Any AI image elsewhere on a page is labeled, and we replace it with our own photo once we have cooked the dish.
- Testing. A recipe is never published on the strength of AI alone. A person cooks it and adjusts it. Food photos are ours, a credited photo labeled as an example, or a labeled AI illustration until ours are ready.
- Fake people. We do not invent readers, reviews, testimonials or stories, and we do not present AI as a real person.
- Health advice. We do not use AI to give medical or nutrition advice.
Human review
A person checks every amount, time and temperature against what actually happened in the kitchen before a recipe goes up. See our editorial guidelines.
